Nick ended his senior year at Kansas by earning the MVP award at the teams annual awards ceremony.  Nick also picked up the Senior award, Rebounding award, and the Captain's award.  Nick lead the Jayhawks in scoring, rebounding, and blocks.  Nick ended up at Kansas after considering both Duke and Iowa.  Nick played high school ball for Iowa Falls and his father, Dave.  His high school team was 101-1 and won two state titles.  Nick and Jayhawks teammate Kirk Hinrich (also from Iowa) were co-winners of the Mr. Iowa Basketball award. Nick relies on a refined post game and close range shots. Average range from outside to compliment his inside presence. His good footwork compliments his great rebounding and shot blocking. In his spare time, Nick describes himself as a "couch potato."  He follows the NCAA closely and has an impressive DVD collection.  Nick also enjoys listening to Miles Davis and has a superstition of making a wish everytime the clock strikes 11:11.
